Scarlet Letter

This story is actually pretty good. The story starts with Hester being persecuted by her people but she takes it and doesn't car about their opinions. Readers tend to admire Hester for her strong will in this book and hate Dimmsdale for his weak will. He however isn't the most hated character in the book. That award would go to Chillingworth Hester's ex husband. This guy is a total creep. He just sits there the whole book stalking Hester and her daughter Pearl. Pearl is also an interesting character. She was conceived from sin and portrays it. She pelts birds and children with rocks. However, this behavior is pretty understandable because she is constantly backed into a wall by the other villagers and looked down upon. All this girl wants his her father and for a brief moment she does. Till he dies. This part kind of pissed me off. It wasn't the fact that he did die because that felt appropriate. It was the fact that he did die. He admitted he was the father and the plopped dead. The book was pretty and had a good story line. I just wish the author would have ended it better.

Things Fall Apart

Things Fall apart is the story of a Nigerian tribe and a group of English men who are trying to learn to co exist. In the beginning this is very hard but they learn to do so by the end of the book. The book is pretty good  but it is hard to distinguish characters from cities since readers are not used to these names. The story however is well written and causes a deeper thought of how we understand another's culture and customs.

Death of a Salesman

Death of a Salesman is the story of Willy Lowman and how he pushes his son Biff into beveling that everything will go his way because he is well liked and good looking. The story starts with Biff coming home from his farming jobs in the west and his father convincing him that he can be in the salesmanship world like he was. This is untrue, we find out later in the book that neither of them were meant to be a salesman. The father is all hung up on his delusion that his son will be a successful businessman that he ignores his hopes and skills. The book is well written and is full of emotion. Arthur Miller accurately captures the struggles and emotions of the family. His writing captures the reader and even though you get mad at the character you want to just keep on reading.

Hamlet

Hamlet is the story of a war between Ireland and England and how Ireland is trying to win the war. The story is pretty good but hard to understand at times due to its Shakespearean language.

The Crucible

The Crucible is the story of a community in Salem who start trials in persecuting "witches". This book has a lot of dumb accusations. They is an accusation one after the other and it soon becomes to be ridiculous. You begin to hate everyone in the book except for John Proctor. He later dies in the story though. The epilogue is the most interesting part of the story. The story overall is quite boring actually due to so many pointing of fingers. It has a good beginning but the story soon starts to get out of hand with so many wild accusations based on what we know now.
